Who We Are
Leafgene Solutions is a plant biotechnology company with its own laboratory in Valencia. We specialise in applying artificial intelligence to breeding programmes and the development of new varieties.
What sets us apart is the combination of:
- AI prediction models. Trained on genomic and field data for each species.
- Breeding programmes. Designed and run end to end, guided by those models and by molecular tools.
- Genomics and bioinformatics. Our own analysis, from sequencing through to interpretation.
- Sanitation and in-vitro culture. Diagnostics and recovery of clean material against persistent pathogens such as HLVd.
- Biostimulant validation. Technical support using multi-omic approaches to measure the effect on treated and control plants.

What are Leafgene Solutions' main services?

What does your plant genetics service consist of?
We develop varietal improvement programmes to obtain varieties that are more tolerant to climate change (drought, heat) and with valuable commercial traits (hop aroma, quality of red berries, ripening adaptation on the vine or persimmon). We offer genetic traceability, creating molecular profiles that guarantee varietal authenticity and protect intellectual property. We also provide any type of bioinformatics analysis and can perform DNA/RNA extraction and sequencing.
What are the advantages of in-vitro plant sanitation?
Our micropropagation and sanitation protocols eliminate persistent pathogens such as viroids and viruses that are difficult to control. The result is clean, certifiable mother plants ready for safe propagation, reducing risk and loss.
Do you offer diagnosis and remediation for Hop Latent Virus (HLVd) in cannabis and hops?
Yes. HLVd is one of the main problems in cannabis and hops, with yield losses exceeding 30%. At Leafgene Solutions, we offer:
- High-precision molecular diagnostics to detect infections in mother plants and nurseries. We are capable of applying different techniques to adapt to your specific needs: single plants or batches of plants, one-time or recurring.
- Exclusive in vitro plant sanitation to recover viroid-free material and establish certified mother plants.
What does biotechnology consulting include?
We support producers, nurseries, cooperatives, and designations of origin in implementing biotechnology solutions: from phytosanitary diagnosis and certification to the design of collective improvement programs or the validation of field trials.
